You’ll be riding down 1,700 feet of the most spectacular and highest sea cliffs in the world. The boundless beauty you will experience as you transverse 26 switchbacks will leave you speechless. These mules are personally trained by company owner Buzzy Sproat. He is considered Hawaii’s foremost expert on Mules.

Once you arrive in Kalaupapa, a bus will take you on a tour where you’ll learn about the leper colony, incredible tales of struggle and human suffering along with stories of courage and love. You’ll see the gravesite of Father Damien, the heroic Belgium Priest who loved and served this colony of outcasts. This is a special place in Hawaii, like no other you’ll experience. TOUR DETAILS: Tour is 7 ½ hours starting at 8:00 am. Dress comfortably. Long pants are recommended. Bring water and snacks. Picnic lunch is included. Open daily except Sunday. Must be at least 16 yrs old.

The only way to hike the Halawa Moaula Falls is to do it with Uncle Pilipo, a true native and "Keiki o ka aina" who was born and lives in this beautiful valley. Uncle Pilipo will give you the history of this area and share stories that will make you laugh and cry and send chills down your spine. To help you understand and appreciate this beautiful valley, he will share old pictures from the 1930 – 1940’s. An unforgettable experience you will treasure for a life time. Note: Because the trail crosses over private property, you cannot do this hike without being on a guided tour.
